A Story Cafe | Transitions to school

Today we read How do dinosaurs go to school by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague, and Dinosaur Roar by Paul and Henrietta Stickland, along with Dinosaurs love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort.  I wanted to use transitions to school as our theme, and dinosaurs as most 3-4 year olds love dinosaurs!!

A brilliant rhyming story, revealing the REAL reason why the dinosaurs become extinct... hilarious!

Another rhyming story, about what the dinosaur get up to at school, but do they...

And I love this one - really simple for all ages, describing dinosaurs!

We played with the dinosaurs, and made trail with laminated dinosaur footprints.

We made story props to go along with the dinosaur stories...

And we made jigsaw puzzles of the children's names using milk bottle lids, white stickers and a hummus tub with a lid, plus a cereal packet card template to match the latters to.

And some of us even wore dinosaur clothes!!

I hope you like these dinosaur stories as much as we did.  And if you know any children who are off to school soon, why not try making a name puzzle with one letter per milk bottle lid, and a little tub to keep all the pieces in.
