At this week's Story Cafe we shared the beautiful Tree by Britta Teckentrup.
We shared the story and talked about the Communication Pyramid, and how communication and language skills develop from the bottom of the pyramid upwards, with listening and attention at the bottom.

Then we explored lots of different coloured leaves that I had collected from the park, all different shapes and sizes and shades or yellow, orange, brown and green,
We explored sticking, mark making and cutting with scissors.
After a snack and a drink, we sang "Who's in the box?" - with lots of the animals from the story hiding in the box. And we pretended to be a tree flowing through some yoga poses. Everyone went home with a story to share and an Autumn treasure hunt to do together.
