It's Halloween again...

Last year I put together this selection of picture books for Halloween.

This year, inspiration from some pictures I took last year when reading and playing with the story "Two Little Witches"

I found these little plastic pumpkins in a pound shop.  We read the story and used the pumpkins to practice counting.  We try counting them, adding one more, taking one away, grouping them in different number groups, and spotting the difference between the groups (bigger or smaller or the same).  Lots of mathematical language.  EYFS links - Mathematics, number.

And for the really little ones, try Meg and Mog stories by Jan Pienkowski and Helen Nicholl - simple illustrations, few words, short stories, lots of things to spot on the pages and say the words.
