NEW PICTURE BOOKS | From Penguin Random House | September 16

Motor Miles by John Burningham - a beautiful tale of Miles the dog who lives with Alice Trudge and Norman.  Miles and Norman grow up together and have some wonderful adventures in Miles' special red car.

Plenty of Love to go Round by Emma Chichester Clark - the second story starring Plumdog.  When Plumdog's next door neighbours Gracie and Sam announce their new arrival - A CAT! - Plumdog has a lot to get used to.  A lovely story of friendship and love from the creator of Blue Kangaroo.

Meg in the Jungle by Jan Pienkowski and David Walser - this is a brand new Meg and Mog tale.  I've always loved Jan Pienkowski's illustrations, because even though they are extremely bold and simple we can still tell what Mog is thinking from the expressions on her face!

Alfie and His Very Best Friend by Shirley Hughes - three stories for the price of one in this Shirley Hughes book featuring Alfie - Alfie and Bernard, Alfie and the Scooter Race and The ABC.  I especially loved the first story about Alfie and his best friend Bernard who go to listen to stories at the library from the "library lady".  For more about Alfie and to find out about all the other wonderful Alfie stories see his website.
