Rainbow Cafe on Thursday 31st January was based around the story "Stick Man" by Julia Donaldson.
We read the story using lots of props - here's Stick Man and his Stick Lady Love.
Children and their families then made their own Stick family to take home to play with and re-tell the story. Lots of messy glue, googly eyes and woolly blonde hair! Some even made dresses for Stick Lady Love - beautiful!
We had a snack and a drink and the children played with the "Stick Man" props. Thanks to Claire for the amazing "Stick Man" gingerbread biscuits! One evaluation reads"The homemade biscuits were yummy! It was a really nice touch. Loved their faces."
Next Rainbow Cafe is in March. In the mean time here's a link to a lovely video of Julia Donaldson reading Stick Man.
Thanks all of you who came along. See you next time!
